Stepping Into Your Heart - Eight
Junsu tried to calm down the little boy but failed. “Me want Chunppa! Changminnie want Chunppa!”
“Alright, we’ll try to call your Chunppa”
“Really?” Changmin asked him with hopeful eyes, he nodded. Just then, the little boy jumped on him and hugged him tightly. “Changminnie loves Summa!” he exclaimed.
Summa? Junsu thought. “Changminnie baby, who’s Summa?”
Changmin struggled so he out down the little boy, he pointed at himself. “Me, Changminnie..” then he pointed at Junsu. “Summa!”
“Huh? I thought I’m Junppa?”
The boy shook his head furiously. “No! Summa! Su~mmaaaa!”
He sighed. “Alright, I’m Summa” there’s no use arguing with a five-year old boy. Knowing that Yoochun will be back eventually, he just decided to wait for him while he takes care of little Changminnie. “Changminnie baby, you sure you don’t wanna eat?” he asked, carrying the little boy in his arms.
“Minnie not hungry!” he shook his head but his stomach said otherwise as it growled. Junsu chuckled and kissed his nephew’s lips.
“Alright Minnie, let me get you something to eat” he said, trying to put down the little boy. But the little boy wouldn’t let him go as he clung onto him for dear life so he was forced to prepare breakfast with the Changmin dangling on his neck.
The familiar tune of In My Dream echoed throughout the house. With an exasperated sigh, he fetched his cell phone from his bedroom not before giving the playing Changmin a glance, making sure that he’s alright. His heart thumped rapidly and he couldn’t help but feel nervous when Yoochun’s name popped in the screen. With the clearing of his throat, he answered the call. “Yoochun?”
‘So his name’s Yoochun and I believe you’re Junsu?’
That is definitely not Yoochun.
“Who are you?”
‘I’m Kim Yesung, a bartender at Club No. 1. You’re number one on his speed dial so I decided to call you. Anyway, I would just like to ask you if you could fetch your friend here. He’s too drunk that he can barely stand up straight.’
Junsu glanced at the digital clock. 1:35PM. Seriously?
“Uhm, alright. Club No. 1, am I right?”
“Yesung ssi, thank you for informing me about my friend’s condition...I’ll be there in a while.”
Was Yoochun serious? And what kind of club opens that early? Sometimes, he just has no clue on how his best friend’s mind works.
Arriving at the said club, he regretted bringing Changmin with him. What if they don’t let him in? But the sign says that the bar’s still closed. How come Yoochun..? He held on to the giggling toddler in his arms and carefully entered the place.
It wasn’t bad. It was decent, actually. Not the usual clubs that people go into. “Minnie baby, please stay still.” he told the ball of energy in his arms. “We won’t get to see Chunppa if you keep on doing that.”
His eyes scanned the whole place looking for a certain person. His gaze landed on a young man wiping the counter table. “Are you Yesung ssi?” he asked carefully as he approached the man that he assumed is the bartender. True enough, he is.
“You’re Junsu ssi?” he nodded. “Yoochun ssi’s sleeping over there,” he pointed at the man sitting on a chair with his head buried on his arms, resting at the table.
“Oh my..why happened to him? And isn’t the bar closed? How come he managed to enter here?”
“He’s a very strong man Junsu ssi.” Yesung commented and Junsu’s mouth gaped open finally noticing Yesung’s semi-bruised cheek.
“Don’t tell me he..”
“Let’s not talk about that alright? How about I help you get him home since your hands are full. Is he..?”
“Oh no!” he shook his head furiously. “He’s my nephew!”
Junsu’s panicked tone sent the young bartender to burst in a fit of giggles. “Calm down Junsu ssi. You don’t have to explain anything.” A sigh of relief escaped the once panicked man’s lips. “And oh, no formalities needed. Just Yesung is fine.”
“Then just Junsu is fine too..I guess.”
“Alright, I think we should take Yoochun ssi home now. The manager will be here soon and a drunk man sleeping on a table isn’t actually a pretty sight.”
Although they had a little trouble, they still managed to take Yoochun back Junsu’s house. Yesung was hesitant to leave Junsu alone and take care of Yoochun considering that he’s also looking after Changmin. But Junsu was still able to convince and assure the bartender that they’ll be alright.
His eyes darted to the man sleeping on his bed. He slowly put the five-year old down and looked at him. “Changminnie go play in your room while Summa looks after Chunppa, alright? I’ll call you when Chunppa’s awake”
Nodding like an obedient kid, Changmin took small steps towards his room. The scene made Junsu’s lips curve up in a smile. He then remembered what he was supposed to do.
Seeing his snoring (sleeping) drunk best friend, he sighed and pumped his fist in the air. “Kim Junsu hwaiting!”
Yoochun’s scent was strong..too much alcohol.
He brushed Yoochun’s bangs away from his face and stared at him. “You stupid man! Why did you drown yourself in alcohol..” he mumbled, still staring a his soft and handsome features. “I didn’t really mean to snap at you, you know. I was just frustrated that time,” he continued, knowing that Yoochun can’t hear him. “if I knew that you would go to a bar then I should’ve just kept my mouth shut. I hate myself, you know that?”
I hate myself for not being able to hate you no matter how much you hurt me.
Not taking the pungent smell anymore, he decided to clean Yoochun up.
It was in the evening when Yoochun finally woke up having a severe hangover. The first thing that greeted him was a worried Junsu looking over him asking, “Does your head hurt too much?”
He nodded. Of course it hurts, big time! Who told him to drink too much anyways?
Junsu handed him a medicine for hangover. “Thank you...” he mumbled, silently drinking the medicine. “Uhm Junsu..I’m sorry,”
“Yah,” the smaller boy nudged him on the side, smiling. “I don’t need your apology. I was at fault. I didn’t mean to say those things so yeah, I’m sorry. But come to think of it, you do need to apologize.”
“For drinking so early, it was past noon when someone called telling me that you passed out. How could you? You know I hate it when you drink” Yoochun wasn’t able to respond. “Never mind, just don’t do it again”
“Does that mean I’m forgiven now?”
“It depends. Since you weren’t able to help me take care of Changmin today, you have to do most of the work tomorrow.”
“You know it’s not easy to take care of him, right?”
“Yes I do but I’m willing to do it for you”
“Aww, how sweet!” they both chuckled and spent the rest of the night chatting about random stuff, their fight earlier was completely forgotten.
